Sun Flow is a form-based (alignment) class that will mix flow and holding postures to start the morning energized and feeling ready for the day! The class will effectively open the body specifically focusing on hips and hamstrings. We will also be reviewing rotations of the body and energetics of the practice throughout class. This is perfect for someone just beginning in practice or a student wanting to deepen their understanding of all the subtle aspects of posture.

This is an intermediate Anusara Hatha yoga practice focusing on hip-openers and assisted-handstand. Be prepared to chant and meditate. Adventurous spirits encouraged with some yoga experience. Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of awareness. The power of Kundalini Yoga lies in the actual experience. It goes right to your heart and extends your consciousness so you may have a wider horizon of grace and knowing the truth. We will discuss the basics of Kundalini Yoga including breathwork, meditation, kriyas, mantras, and chanting which will focus on healing the heart center. This workshop includes a yoga practice and is suitable for all levels. Dan Shanahan, yoga teacher and musician, will enhance the practice by taking us on a musical journey with guitar and harmonium.
In addition, you will immerse yourself in the healing sounds of the gong tuned to the planet Uranus and healing the Sacral Chakra, balancing emotions. The gong is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Based on ancient wisdom, the gong vibrates at the same frequency as the body allowing the body to heal itself. The gong balances the central nervous system and aids in deep meditation. Singing crystal and Tibetan bowls will also be added to raise the vibration and heighten the experience.

As asana is “the needle” and meditation is the “thread”, this class will weave together the Mind and Body of the Yogi. Tairi Grace (RYT 500, LCSW), Owner of Sense of Samadhi in Yorkville, IL and her partner Paul Hansen (Owner of Organic Affirmations, Inc.), will guide this 75 minute all levels class. While moving through asana, this class will awaken a new physical, emotional, and spiritual awareness that both heals and elevates participants to a new energetic level.
